Rev. Stefan Furdek (1855-1915) was a priest, author, educator, and Slovak leader. He was the first pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Cleveland, where he served for 32 years. He organized the first Catholic Slovak Union and the first Slovak Ladies Union in 1889.
