Rock Waves
2002 / Anno Seiberts / Kettering
"Rock Waves" is a massive vertical structure, made from 26,600 lbs of Indiana limestone, in a rectangular shape tapering toward the top. It incorporates a pattern of concentric waves carved into the face. The opposite side of the stone repeats line carvings of the wave.
The work was commissioned as part of the 2002 Kettering Rocks! International Stone Sculpting Exposition. During the exposition, eight sculptors from around the world were given 20 days to create their works in Delco Park. Most of the completed works were then relocated to various public sites throughout the city of Kettering; this item is permanently installed at Delco Park.
