This is a life-size stainless steel rendering of Revolutionary War General Daniel Morgan and his wife, Abigail Curry. According to the artist, it was made without casting molds. It depicts Abigail teaching her husband how to read and write. Morgan holds a rifle in his hand while Abigail holds a book, and there is a quill and parchment placed on a platform next to them.

The piece was a gift from Doctor Robert Richmond and his family to the county, and it sits outside of the Kate Love Simpson Library, facing the street.
