This impressive 13-foot tall cavalier sculpture stands proudly in front of the gymnasium at Walsh University in Canton, Ohio (Stark County). The sculpture was carved from a live tree by woodcarver Dan Kidd of Scio, Ohio. The artist used a chainsaw along with a few carving tools.

Kidd, the owner of Conotton Creek Woodworks in Scio, is a cabinetmaker and a self-taught professional woodcarver for the past four years. He is a native of Mingo Junction and has lived in Scio for 21 years.
