This life-sized bronze statue of Tony Pérez, former first baseman and manager with the Cincinnati Reds, stands at the entrance to the Great American Ball Park. The statue depicts Pérez mid-swing, and the artist has said that his intention was to capture a specific game-changing at-bat from game 7 of the 1975 World Series between the Reds and the Boston Red Sox.
