Readers Column
1982 / David E. Davis / Cleveland
A vertical abstraction of painted aluminum and stainless steel, ""Readers Column"" changes from every aspect, appearing to move as the viewer moves. The sculpture is situated in a plaza in front of the modern ceramic-tiled library building. Complexities of engineering demanded the use for stability of a single central 3.5' fiberglass-clad aluminum shaft around which the exterior stainless steel elements are wrapped.
Location: plaza in front of the library entrance, 3545 Fulton Road
